Hi, hello, I'm Sarah. Thanks for visiting my website! I'm a Canadian-American-Filipina actor, educator and director based in San Diego, CA. I grew up in Winnipeg, MB, Canada as a shy, quiet young person. To break me out of my shell, my mom enrolled me in several extra curricular activities. I found a love for singing and started singing in a choir and became a cantor as a teenager. I danced with Magdaragat Philippines Inc., and found out that I loved to perform and tell stories through song and dance. My singing teacher, Joy Lazo, encouraged me to attend a performing arts high school to pursue musical theatre. I was immersed in the arts throughout my teenage years, but made a decision to go to college and earn a B.Sc. in Biochemistry for a more stable career as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Throughout my career, I continued theatre, singing and teaching on the side when I had the opportunity. For me, the COVID-19 pandemic gave me time to pause and realize that I wanted to pursue education to teach aspiring theatre artists and revisit musical theatre. I switched gears and earned a B.A. in Education and a terminal degree, M.F.A. in Musical Theatre (while raising 2 kids). Here I am now, the most vulnerable I've been, showcasing myself and my work to the world in hopes that I can be an inspiration to another shy, quiet, young Sarah.
